We are excited to announce that we have entered the solutions market. This means we will be open to large companies and our customer support agents will be assisting their IT departments in creating a better environment.
As MyWikis is built on personally getting a valuable wiki experience (and we don't treat our customers like crap), this means it's only natural we go into wiki solutions in the form of MyWikis Solutions.
Some of our current partners we are working with includes startup Soylent, the food alternative that's been abuzz in CNN Money, among others.
Update!: We're adding Monaco absolutely free to public wikis, the skin Wikia killed, the skin that ShoutWiki requires money for!
Over the 4th of July weekend, we've taken the time to edit the Create a site page. We've added our criteria to make sure prospective customers actually will use the wiki to our high requirements.
We've also began optimizing our websites by substantially disabling unused websites. We've been able to speed up the website by (theoretically) about three times than previously operating. Our major spam source was a side project of mine called "TruWiki", where everyone could have administrative permissions and one could grant themselves many things and have fun. However, it became a spammed-up wiki that we never really bothered to stop until now. We apologize sincerely for the bandwidth and the computational power wasted.
Starting today, wikis will see many skins removed (such as Chick, Cologne Blue, Modern, MySkin, Nostalgia, Simple, and Classic/Standard.) We are leaving behind ONLY Monobook and Vector. If you'd like one of those skins on your wiki, however, please file a support ticket so we may retain the skin on your wiki.
We now have a Twitter account, @mywikis. Follow our account for more MyWikis updates and news!
MyWikis Pro is changing due to cost factors and high transaction fees.
We are changing the 3-month and domain policy. Now, you'll need to pay $8 (to compensate for PayPal transaction fees) OR you can get our all-new MyWikis Quantum plan with a domain after 6 months but compensated with blazing-fast sites with no ads to slow down the load speed!
Now why would we do this? The only reason is because we have limited resources and a lack of customers. Our services are for $5 a month, which do not add up to the value of our services! Starting today, MyWikis Pro will cost $8 for new customers and $6 for existing MyWikis Pro customers. Users of other currencies are subject to the new $8 fee immediately. MyWikis Quantum will be for an extra $4/month. This is the only way to avoid advertisements. Not only are we working tirelessly to balance our services vs. money, we are making sure your wikis work, with near-immediate and un-templated support responses.
If you oppose this price hike, you can quit our service or support true wiki hosting like it should be.
We need help! Our staff can so far only speak English and Chinese. We are currently interested mainly in hiring foreign language speakers who speak the following: Spanish, German, Russian.
If you can speak one of the following, understand wiki syntax, can use MediaWiki, including administrative functions, easily, and can easily get along with others, please apply by directly emailing email@example.com for a chance to volunteer with the alternative, un-Wikian wiki farm!
Our sincerest apologies go out to our customers experiencing some issues with image uploading. The reason was caused by our service provider's servers improperly configuring their version of ImageMagick, the tool that assists MediaWiki in thumbnail generation and image correction, especially with vector to raster conversion. We'd like to emphasize that this issue is NOT our fault at ALL. However, as a sign of goodwill, if you can show where your wiki was affected by filing a support ticket at support.mywikis.com, you will be offered a free month of MyWikis Pro, not qualifying for a free domain after 3 months, however.
(The image must be uploaded before June 18, 2013 at 5:30 CDT.)
We've introduced a ticketed support system and webFTP service! You can access them at support.mywikis.com or webFTP.mywikis.com, respectively. Our FAQ is looking at being replaced with the ticketed support system's included and much more systematically-organized knowledge base. Why not use a wiki, you may ask? Because the KB is included. :)
MyWikis has implemented reCAPTCHA for our website requests and contact emails because of recent spam. We will soon be requiring reCAPTCHA for websites instead of username requesting or lockdown of user accounts adding.
Coming up soon: Legacy IE users will be denied user account creation sometime this May.
Welcome to the new MyWikis Beta website! This is officially MyWikis 3.beta.1
We've migrated everything over, but here, we're branching off with bleeding-edge new features that we've never been able to achieve before! We will also attempt to create a mobile website; keep your fingers crossed!
We're very excited to begin a new journey of MyWikis. Here is the combined phase-in and phase-out plan:
Minecraft server slots are on sale for $5/mo for a fast, awesome Bukkit server. Vanilla remains free.
MyWikis is selling 5% of our "Board of Trustees" department, which basically is like the city council for MyWikis. We're offering about 10 shares, purchasable for $10 each. If you become the majority shareholder, you will have access to MyWikis and crucial decisions like no other wiki farm. In the case of some shares not being sold, they will reintegrate into MyWikis' property.
If you're interested in becoming a trustee, overseeing many wiki sites' operation, please email me by clicking here or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
Why are these trustee shares so cheap? Because we want everyone to be able to afford a MyWikis trustee position.
Today is the last day of the Spring Festival! As a parting gift, we're introducing jQuery functionality to the website. This added jQuery functionality will provide us a much-needed lift for the website, enabling us to create a more dynamic experience for the user. Since jQuery works well in all browsers, you shouldn't have an issue unless you're using a very dilapidated and unsupported browser like NCSA Mosaic, ViolaWWW, or Netscape 3. That being said, welcome to the new MyWikis.
Also, we've purchased NewSumeria.com to further facilitate gaming websites.
No, we didn't get married a year ago. Who's we? MyWikis has now been open for more than a year! YAY OMGAWD!
Happy Chinese New Year! We've updated the site just for you all and potential customers.
The major difference is the main page. You can see the difference, can't you?
It's time to look back at what a year MyWikis has had.
In February, we started out as an ambitious group with a wiki front page and a dream to improve wiki hosting services.
As a contender, we tried hard to give the best to everyone. We decided to merge with now-defunct (and hardly working) Nuenda.
We soon de-merged and resumed on our own tracks. We purchased mywikis.org on August 19, 2012 and keep it to this day.
Now, the website is no longer using a wiki, rather using an in-house developed software.
Just a few days ago, my friends have asked me to merge MyWikis into their own "company". I said no because their company wasn't real.
Another pathetic attempt at taking over everything by greedy people, including a fake company taking over a real company. Oh dear!
Well, then. We guarantee another year to MyWikis! (We won't merge, so your wikis will be safe! :D)
We've updated the New Site wizard to include an email confirmation area and to prevent people from using the default email account example provided, "email@example.com".
We're also beginning official support for any Minecraft servers. Our plans range from free servers to $20/month servers.
Our staff currently are busy with "exams" and whatnots. We're rolling out Christmas deals starting on December 21.
Wiki requests are currently halted until the 21st.
We have MANY promo codes for Thanksgiving; in fact, they're listed here.
We launch Chinese MyWikis on January 1st, 2012, in anticipation of a mainland China market.
We've removed the member services pages in favor of a new online store for upgrades to your awesome website. This allows for us to serve your website better.
We'll try to remove ads for the time being. If nobody buys, ads will go up (with very little disturbance, of course.)
Want to manage your website easily? In the next couple of days, we'll be overhauling MyWikis' member services page and we'll be replacing it. Stay tuned for more info.
Our CEO will be renewing our hosting for next year, so please don't fret of your website; it'll be FINE!
We'll also be introducing an FAQ very soon, so we can clear up all the confusion.
We apologize that you were unable to make a website between sometime in August until yesterday! We sincerely apologize!
We also cheer for the fact that MyWikis has rolled out our error pages! Now, you know what to do when there's a 404!
We are also very proud to say we have removed a need of a sponsor code AND FTP access is free now!
MyWikis has celebrated our acquisition of MyWikis.com by rolling out a new logo, which has a higher resolution and looks better and less choppier.
However, the new logo will not have a wiki-style 135x155px counterpart logo along with it.
MyWikis has bought MyWikis.com, and now MyWikis.org redirects to it.
